If the shit hits the fan in Europe, here's what I'm prepared to do.

1. Arm myself with heavy weaponry that's legal in US, but not in EU.
2. Pay boat captain to take me across Atlantic to Spain.
3. Make trek from coast of Spain to the middle of Europe.
4. Round up several important devs/testers like Toddel and Flippy.
5. Make way back to Spain and pay another boat captain to take me back to US.
6. ??
7. Continue developing FH2 under azreal's leadership in the US!
8. WIN!

^You would have to pay a ticket for the whole community as well, cause there would be nobody left to play FH2 (except for the occasional NA Thursday) if this shit got real. :P

What Azreal said. lol We'll all band together and fight for freedom! and fh2! I could imagine that, all the FH2 players set up a post apocalyptic camp with loads of PCs. LOL

exactly -
where you live flyboy ? I could imagine that in high population area or in the south the situation could be more critical then in the northern parts
also dont forget that in the desert zones they may just cut of the water

I live in NC, not a lot of people where we live. We're sorta out in the south with lots of land. Lots of gun owners around us, could be bad, could be good. lol On new years, I usually hear shit loads of guns. Suprisingly, quite a few are full auto.

Can i come along? i got guns and ammo, and an electrician/mechanic with more then basic medical knowledge is always nice to have.

On a serious note, we just spend like 500 days with no government, you really think we will be in chaos within 3 day? Last Saturday there was an event in Ghent, only 15km from here, and 200 000 people where there on 1 evening, with no incidents worth mentioning at all, and when i was there is maybe saw 3 or so 2 person police patrols in a whole night. We Belgians are just to lazy do be bothered with the whole 'rioting and looting' thing, we aint London, or Paris or Greece. And that minority in Brussels, Antwerp, Charleroi, liege that want to beat things up wont live long here i think when they try to ruin it. at least in my town.

Most of us don´t need a plan for an apocalypse. The first to fall are most likely the elderly and the sick, and propably the fat people.  :P
So I´ll just sit down and relax and see what´s going to happen. If someone attacks me there is a fire-axe somewhere around here. I personally hope for a zombie-apocalypse in 2012.

I'm not going to prepare. I refuse to live my life in fear of what might happen. I'd rather live it to the fullest.

So where did you live again? If you are unprepared I know which house to pillage first when it starts.

If you´re really going into full survivalist mode, don´t forget to store big ammounts of water and, as trivial as it may sound, toilet paper. All that nice canned food won´t be much use if you run out of water. Make sure to also have some sort of filter system to purify water, just in case you run out of bottled water.
And well, toilet paper is pretty much self-explainatory.

Anyway, I don´t think we´ll have some sort of civil war, soon. Atleast where I live I can´t imagine any big riots to start. The next big town is quite a distance away and I just can´t imagine that riots from Greek cities will spread widely into Germany. Not that we´re more civilised or anything, but most people don´t care enough to really riot.
Things like 1st May riots in bigger cities are being dealt with pretty quickly and they seldom spread quite far and I think they´re more a small group of pretty bored suburban kids trying to cause some trouble.

I´d rather be prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse, if I were you!
Toiletpaper = good water filter for mud and other particles.. so yes moar toiletpaper.
If you have to shoot, shoot, dont talk.

Good idea, actually, never thought about that. Standard coffee filters work, too. Of course boiling water should also be done, because that´s the easiest way to kill bacteria and germs.
On another subject:
A medical bag is also really important. There´s no need for high-tech surgical tools, but standard stuff, like bandages, dressings, gauze (can be used to start a fire btw), a bandana or a similiar scarf and of course basic medicaments, like prescription free pain killers or anti-diarrhea pills are important, too, especially the latter.
If you need special drugs for whatever medical reasons, make sure to have those, too. And always read the package inserts. You don´t want to give someone with a heavily bleeding wound painkillers that thin blood (such as aspirin)...

Another good idea would be a so-called readily packed "bug out bag" which contains the bare essentials for three days, such as water, food, spare clothes, medical supplies, a tarp, maybe a sleeping bag etc.
So if you have to quickly leave your "hideout" you can quickly retreat, without having to pack all your essential gear. Just google "bug out bag", there are tons of "prepper" or survivalist homepages that deal with what you should have in your BOB.

This thread is actually quite cool. Maybe we can use it as some sort of "outdoor and survival"-thread instead of a "what kind of apocalypse will end our civilisation".thread? ^^
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Aspirin is not a painkiller - its a hangover killer.
Painkillers that help you against broken legs - sever fleshwounds, firearm wounds ect are all kind of morphine. The rest is useless in this case, and will do more damage then help.

If you want to have some medicin at home buy these:
Paracetamol - painkiller and fever killer, can be give to babies too.
Antibacterial, very important, If you have a wound, and it has bacterial inside you are doomed
96% Alcohol as disinfectant.

also dont forgett:
soap, staying clean is important as you will stay healthier

Might help
Wine - you can make party and afterward molotov cocktails

:D

My forked tongue does all the work for me, but i dont think it can provide enough for my family too. hmm i need to think about cutting the lines.
I'm taking my own freedom
puttin' it in my song
singing loud and strong
proving all day long
I'm takin' my freedom
puttin' it in my stroll
I'll be hop-steppin' y'all
lettin' the joy unfold

Very well said. you can easily buy those huge containers for water. They are a worthy investment

Also a good wood stove and a pile of wood
And vitamin supplements. VERY Important

But yeah

-Canned food
-Vitamins
-Water lots of
-Toilet paper(Well said Homer_jay)

As for water puryifing systems, there's some good ones out there wich are cheap and reliable, and work on everyday items like activated charchoal, wich you can purchase in huge quantites at a low price

It may be pre panic, but i got some belgian/french RCIR rations in the cellar just in case
