Now, I'm not usually an advocate for including fanmaps to the official map list, but I have to tell you, this one is excellent.

Its the first Normandy map I've seen with really wild vegetation unlike the often sparse of manicured landscape in most maps. It has everything a FH2 fan would want, well placed mg and AT positions, more than enough mortar and howizer positions, 88s, medium amour support, American airborne against SS troops, and a map size larger than the St Lo map.... If it has a Tiger (and I wish it does), I can't tell since I haven't gone into the files to see if it spawns later - I would even throw in a fly-over like St Lo, or even Ramelle.

AND it has the hill, a very believable map indeed, with multple access points which all face the enemy head-on, and great replayabilty value

Try Zxx43's singplayer version of this map and see for yourself cuz walking around it doesn't quite do the trick

Sure, it could use some small amount of work in lighting and some weapons and vehicles have panzergrau or NA skins... But I can tell you now, it will PROBABLY be an instant favorite amongst a good population...

AND it has even more character than purple heart lane and Point du Hoc... As much as Point en Bessin even...

please devs....pretty please... take a look see :)

Map is great, my favourite custom map but it will never be official because of historical inaccuracy AFAIK. It would be probably easier to find some battle which fits better to the scenery of this map than Battle of Bloody Gulch which took place near Carentan on D-Day + 6/7 ? (it looks more for autumn than a summer, and I do not know whether it is similar to the real site of Hill 30 etc.) This map has also some serious bugs...

but Ramelle was a different story, Muese river is also a fictional (or some kind of "what if") map but exception proves the rule as they say and it was kind of a tribute to the players. Do not expect the next one (in this style)... :P

I hope that limit for fictional maps has been reached - it's better to suggest and push devs to create a custom map pack for officiall release (what I mean is official devs support for the best custom maps just as it was in FH1 times) - there are many maps which deserves online playing.

inspite of my wish for this map, I totally agree with you, JK

And if it IS totally historically innacurate, then no, keep it out... But if not, I think it should have its day in court

Either way, the devs should take a look at the kind of vegetation it has and either revampt the current maps or note it for future maps

Snoox is a talented mapper. That also means that he knows when maps he made are... sub par. Without having looked at the map, I would be willing to bet that it has a lot of the problems your average first map usually has. Take Valkenswaard for example: When I made it I was proud as hell. When I look at it today with more experience I see tons of problems and mistakes I made. Most public players probably wouldn't notice them, at least not without playing it a few times. They would be too awed by the nice details and graphics, which is one of the easiest parts of mapping. I have a feeling the same is true here ;) I'm pretty sure Snoox has learned a lot since his first map.

Any chance of just cleaning this one up based on your experience now to get it to a standard that you might sign off on?

You see, its the gameplay inherent in the map I love so much

Each sector defended by an 88, PAK40s, the varying terrain, how asymmetrical it is, and the wild vegetation. Its probably the truests bocage map I've seen for fan maps AND official maps. It feels so real!

Plea-ease!

To be honest , I imagine most players would rather have a nice looking and nice playing map with a few glithces than nothing at all. I sure would if it plays as good as djinn says.

I thought "Bloody Gulch" (or the general area thereof) was included as part of Snoox's Carentan map, which IIRC looked way superior in all the screenshots. Whatever happened to it, btw? Now that's a map I would have liked to see.
