I think fans that aren't retards would be a good thin the mod shud have.

I loved FH1's Gazala for the same reason I loved FH1's (also vanilla) Bocage. The top flag (abandoned airfield) was a ton of fun to defend and could be defended loads of different ways. There were craters to snipe from (and a sniper kit spawned there), that three-engined German paratrooper plane spawned there along with 12 knife/p38/K98/grenades/riflenade kits, there two anti-tank guns, two jeeps, there was an Exp Pack kit so you could scare the shit out of any infantry trying to take the flag, it too had a Pavlov's Houseish feel to it. It's hard to describe, I would just get it in my head that no enemy will cap this flag this round, and despite me being virtually useless 99% of the time in FH I was a motherfucking legend defending that flag.

I think the Eastern Front almost has to be next. To finish up Normandy and then go to the Pacific would be suicide.

I remember in FH1 you could take out Shermans with the .50 cal :D.

Would love it if the Canadians got a few Wasps. Barbequed German defenders, anyone?

I'm assuming FH2's Aberdeen is nothing like the EA Aberdeen from FH1? I loved that map too, firing 2 pounder shells at Panzer IIIs that were just brown pixels in a beige haze was immense when you finally got a kill. Having 10 shells bounce off the front of your Matilda right in front of your face was awesome too.

There does seem to be some truth to it, Flippy. From my occasional bored perusings of this forum you seem to almost drip angst, like some crazy, burning candle of hate.

The title should make it obvious, one of each from me -

I love vanilla Bocage. I get why everyone hates that map, I understand it, but the top flag (the little house to the north, which although I believe is a server side mod, both TDP and PFC use it) is my favorite flag in FH1. Whether you're German or American, there's a million different ways to defend that flag; Park a Jagdpanther in the trees to the east and light up any advancing Shermans, take a deployable MG and hold off any light vehicles, etc. I also love how when you can get two or three other people to defend the flag with you, there's a very Pavlov's House-ish feel to it, as you know you will have to deal with snipers, Stuka bomb/Thunderbolt rocket attacks, tank attacks, 222 raids, Schwimmwagen/Duck assaults, even arty assaults. In short, it's off the beaten path, but you're almost assured of action and you feel immensely proud if you hold out for the whole round at that flag.

On the other hand, I just cannot see the appeal of Pegasus Bridge. It seems like a country version of Arnhem to me, only without any of the Arnhem fun. Perhaps it's another map I don't fully experience due to the shittiness of this computer, but hiding in the bushes all day and having your head blown off by a sniper as soon as you peak out doesn't appeal to me. Yet time and time again, it's played over and over. Sometimes it feels like half the time I typed !nextmap Pegasus fh comes up.

What are some of yours, then.

I felt proud on Kharkov Winter last night, patiently hiding in the trees and taking out a Panzer III in nine shots with the PTRD (he had an engineer with him, and I was afraid to waste ammo trying to hit the engy from such a distance). Unfortunately, my kill shot was both hilarious and tragic - he had parked on the bridge trying to cap the flag, and with his tank burning, he bailed, and I sent one more round into the tracks of the PzIII and blew it up. Unfortunately, I killed a teammate who was attemption to shoot the bailer, but both my comrade and the enemy flew way up into the air and into the river when the tank exploded.

I tend to see the man that's hauling the Boys rifle around with him as the hero in any man versus jeep confrontation. Speaking from a public server perspective, half the time a jeep is used is to burn around the map and cap a back flag, and in that case, feel the wrath of my PTRS.

99 times out of 100, you know if someone did it on purpose before you even see the respawn screen. I get more annoyed at the people that are just retards than the people that tk on purpose - those that are intentionally teamkilling will be kicked sooner or later, but it's the shitheads fill your Churchill full of 17 pounder holes on Goodwood that get on my nerves.

I remember once on FH1, Bulge, in the M36 Jackson, I got sniped out of it BY OUR OWN SNIPER and knocked out by some retard in the Sherman Jumbo in the same round. I was so pissed at the time haha.

that sniper forgot he's an American.

That happened to me from time to time, when I'm using captured weapons without seeing anyone else for a while.

Honesty? That's weird, I've done a lot of dumbass/mindless stuff in FH (sometimes I even find myself crouching while watching a knife battle, reading to shoot the enemy in it if he wins, completely oblivious of other enemies) but I've never forgotten what team I'm on.

When there's only 9 or 10 people online, and some asshole decides to fly the Stuka. So then some dick decides to get into the Mustang, and the some other knob then has to get in the Me109, so someone sits in the AA all round, and suddenly the server is dead for anyone on the ground.

Also a funnier pet hate, whenever you get killed because someone else is a retard. You're wandering around, a tank rolls by, you hide, and then some moron teammate tries to hide with you to, and you know the tank would have just kept rolling right by if it weren't for your teammate. And now you're dead too.

The lack of common sense with some people just kills me, and it's a very frustrating combination when you add the selfishness of being a score whore to it.

I try hard not to get frustrated - I can appreciate that if it's your first time playing FH, you might not know the difference between a tank destroyer and a tank and a self-propelled gun. You might be the dude you get on FH1 Bulge every now and then, dragging the Wespe around the map because it has the biggest gun.

People that camp for tanks are annoying as well. On Pixel Fighter a few days ago, this dude took and lost the Sherman Jumbo 5 times. FIVE. And every time, he respawned back and waited to take it again. Fortunately, I took a standard Sherman and used some clever tactics + a whole lot of luck to knock out 6 enemy tanks and disable a StuG with it, but come on. Then there's people that don't understand that the M36 is OPEN TOPPED, so switch to 3rd person and depress the gun (so you, in the turret, are looking down, and then very little of your head is visible).
