Because I've not really tried the tanks, Pointe du Hoc and Purple Heart Lane are my favorites, with PdH on top for the epicness of scalling cliffs, assaulting bunkers with flamethrowers, etc...

Today, i learned the epicness of the Churchill MKIV with 6 pDR on Totalize. That thing is a BEAST

In one life, i took out a panther, 3 Panzer IV's, 2 marders. I then got taken out by a panther, 30m away from me, in my side.

The churchill is so epic. It is probaly the only Allied tank wich can survive a shot from the Panzer IV and Pak 40.

I used this to my advantage. Exposed myself,   wait till They fired, i survived the shot, and my APDS round did the talking.
Just wait until newbies learn to use tanks.

My fav has to be purple heart line, just awesome. I like flanking in that map. Totalize is also very good, love the overpowered typhoon and the number of german heavy tanks

Still El Alamein is my favorite map of all time. Totalize comes to close, but nothing beats defending those hill bases and dog fighting in El Alamein. In Africa there is just not so much chaos.

I don't have a favourite map, yet. I really like all American maps (not because of the Americans, but the atmosphere on PdH, PHL and Luttich is amazing), but I have yet to decide. I like Falaise a lot, too.

goodwood is boring in begin, and allies have hard time capping those flags :(

Give it some time. Allied players will get used to the map, they will leanr the hiding places and they will find a solution for their porblems. Look at Giarabub and Tunis, where the wins were always one-sided in the beginning. And in the end? Axis started winning Giarabub more often and allies won Tunis moree regularly. This will happen in Normandy too, especially on maps like PdH, Goodwood and PHL.

I voted Lesbey, because I love... what? It's spelled... oh. Oh.

...oh.

(seriously, though, I'll withold posting 'til after I've played the maps. Purple Heart Lane and Point de Hoc look cool, though, as well as whatever towns with tanks and street combat like in the trailer I might find in the release :) ).

As I said in a previous post Totalize is my favorite map. But in my opinion Goodwood has the best look. Fighting in the streets of Cagny is awesome and watching the fields from your Panther kicks ass.

I love to be infantry on Goodwood, ambushing tanks, close quarters combat in the towns. Epic. Totalize is close second as ambushing tanks with AT weapons is also very awesome there, plus it got nice planes.
And I like Purple Heart Lane as Germans, FG42 at hedgerow exits, mow down Americans.

I kinda like the Purple Heart Lane. It's just so atmospheric! Anyone who played Brothers in Arms knows what I'm talking about. It's just beatiful. Also I love support weapons on that map too - Mortar, .30cal & M1903A4 Springfield love :)

Some preliminary thought about the maps I played so far.

Falaise pocket
I think making the last flag uncappable might be a good move. other than that the map is nice, a bit like bardia or sfakia, with fatter tanks. But back capping is a real problem.

PdH
Epic atmosphere. You might want to take away the HEAT riflenades from the Germans, they are sinking boats with them, kinda breaks said atmosphere. Graphically superb and very detailed, with interesting combat spaces. The ropes seem to work just fine, besides some teething problems (like that one jackass who picked up the rope with half the team still dangling, was quite a funny yet tragic sight).

Lüttich
No offense, but I thought this one was quite... generic. That's not all bad, because it is a very straight forward and easy to get map (especially for new comers) but compared to the other new maps it wasn't that interesting for me personally. I also don't really like the lighting, I think the mapper was going for an early morning effect, but it looks a bit overdone and unreal. Then again, makes for a slightly "apocalyptic" look.

PHL
I started as American and was kicked from the server after a massive mortar teamkill (don't ask). I rejoined as American and the map was fun, although we lost. ATm it seems hard to gain ground for the Allies, but I think that's the Tobruk effect. That map has some serious potential. The Graphic and atmosphere are awesome, with tons of details. Also, there are pickup Beretta kits and there is nothing Schneider can do about it muhahaha. I teamswitched towards the end. I don't normally do that, but I wanted to give the FG42 a try, however I got no kill with it.

Lebisey
That's my favourite so far, hunting down flyboy_fx in his Sherman  ;) Graphically top notch and it has some serious tank stalking opportunities. Also I tried out the StG44 here with some success and towards the end I joined a squad with Lobo and some testers.

Totalize and Goodwood are yet to be tested.

Totalize is kinda bad for a Sherman guy like me.

The Panthers and Tigers kills you pretty fast, and going from the Mainbase towards the front, using the flanks, is boring and slow. Awesome map tho.

BTW why do the Germans on Lebisey use the MG34 as their primary machine gun? Were they under equipped in reality or is that just to mix up stuff a bit?

The map is about Canadians trying to close the pocket and Germans trying to break out. So the current system makes sense.

Because the 34's didn't magically disappear when the 42 joined the action. :P
