Sometimes I miss the walking through the wasteland . seeing nothing and then finding a farm where raiders hanged some strangers- that are moments that i miss^^

Have you been at the animal farm? ^^

where is that?

South East of Nippon on the other side of the hills as well. :)
I've actually wasted more time going to strange buildings in the middle of nowhere than playing the actual quests. ^^

Just finished a bunch of Brotherhood of steel quests. As a reward, they gave me a nice safehouse bunker! Located north of Boulder city and east of vault 34.

Between vault 34 and my safehouse, i saw something like a limestone mine. As i approached...i got attacked from all directions BY 10 FRAKKING DEATHCLAWS

The same happend when i first played Fallout 3. my first encounter with a deathclaw..JESUS

I went to novac, picked up my anti-material sniper. Its in bad condition, and only had 30 regular rounds and 10 AP ones. I had to be as far away as possible as these deathclaws (wich are blind) heard me from very far away.

It took me 45 minutes to snipe EACH and every one of them! it was AWESOME. like a real hunter-hunted and visa versa (because i had a few close calls)
Because when i was sniping, i was suddently ambushed by a flock of things called nightstalkers. But when i killed them, one of the deathclaws heard the noise and witouth me noticing, came close. TO CLOSE. FRAK. Hunting revolver out and killed it just in time. had 3 hp left.

FNV combat is so more intense then Fallout 3's.

hehe deathclaws ^^
in fallout 3 i had my first encounter with one after leaving the superdupermarked, sometimes they spawn there at random -> instant death.

later i found them rather easy to kill, cripple their legs with the self made dart gun and then kill them with any range weapon or explosives.

At the moment at Quarry junction, sniping deathclaws. I need to find the Deathclaw mother and Deathclaw alpha male wich would send the pack away from the cement factory

Yet i decided to KILL DEM ALL!

Graphics are not the strongest part of this game?

Nope. It's an open world game on an older engine that has been pushed to it's limits. Atmosphere and gameplay make up for it though.

I thought so.. Was secretly hoping for a Metro 2033 like open world evironment. Though from what I have seen the story is a bit to 'sweet' for that too.

It's the same engine as Fallout 3, what do you expect?
Anyhow, the bumpmaps on roadsigns are the best I have seen in any game to date, the rest is still FO3 though.

But between you and me, NV doesn't need sparkling graphics to hide bad gamedesign, since that is truly refined in NV. ^^

Metro2033 wouldn't work in an open world environment... perhaps on a supercomputer.... *dreams*

Actually my graphics are on low/medium and i converted the real SS to JPEG wich lowers quality

The 4 mb Screenshot looks much better.

Actuallly FNV graphics are nice, but not the latest of the latest

Didn't know about the engine, sad though. I don't really care for graphics all the time but if it's possible, let's do it. It is 2010 after all  :P

The whole grim apocalypse theme of Metro 2033 was super awesome, imagine just being a Ranger and wandering around trying to collect stuff both on surface and in the tunnels. Maybe one day  :)

FO:NV has loads of tunnels to search and old military complexes and buildings!
Don't think it looks that bad. I will post a screen of the settings on my PC tonight. ;)

Oh there will surely be high-res texture packs and atmospheric/weather mods just like for Oblivion and FO3.
