Hi, You need BF2 to use bf2editor and the other modding stuffs. You cannot do modding stuff with the standalone version.  Also follow the instructions from http://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/tutorials/index.php   There are many tutorials about modding stuff.

Howdy ya'll!

I found out about the game via a friend (I love it! I play with 120 bots on small maps, very chaotic).

But something is really nagging me to no end, there is no 3rd person tank view?
I've looked around on the net and messed around with the game files, to no avail.

I can see why no 3rd person would be working for multiplayer, but I solely play singleplayer.

What do I need to do to get it working? Is it a parameter or something of the sort?

to get 3rd Person Tank View in SP, you should take a look at those threads:

But unfortunately all py plugins are compiled.. so you cannot change the python plugins with notepad or something else anymore.  but the first and third thread above might be a solution for you.

Hi All. There is another small update here:

-py warnings are fixed for all cmp maps.
-lcvps added to both tarawa 32 and tarawa 64.
-slighly improved gameplay and ai spawnpoints on berlin 64
-and some miscellanous ai fixes.

*as an extra note: there is a coop map pack (which is being played in  CN server) compiled by war3bf2clark. you can download it from fh2 discord: https://discord.com/channels/338594020328472579/716392204452757597/823528649298280498. you can try it.

unfortunately you cannot change your in-game nick since gamespy shut down. fh2 uses its own master server. Simply, all you can do is to create a new account with any name you'd like.

1) For Tulagi 64p and 32p, some crash problems fixed and ai spawnoints for static guns added.

because the gpo file in "sp3"  and the gpo file (gameplayogbjects.con) in "coop/64" are of different sizes. When you run meuse river in singleplayer mode, there is no problem.  but when run it in coop mode, yes crash happens. That means somthing is wrong in the gpo file in coop/64 . The gpo file in sp3 works fine. I couldn't find exactly what's wrong in the gpo file in coop one. but you can solve the problem by copying the gpo file from sp3 one into coop/64 folder.

Hi everyone. There are some new updates for Wake Island and some vehicles. Here are:

- Enterprise and Shokaku guns have working ai templates. Those vehicles are not necessary. But they should have ai templates.
-wake_panam_bldg building at Peale Island flag in Wake Island map now has itself navmesh. So bots can use the building.
-Some miscellanous crash problems are fixed now.

Does this mean I should be using the CMP downloader util to install ? I'm not seeing an updated download link.

Hi Michael  i always put the download link on the first post of this thread. You can download it from there. i usually dont change the name of the coop map pack.

Hello everyone. There are new updates for the cmp coop maps. here are the some updates:

1- Berlin univermag building has an itself navmesh. so bots can use the building.

2- Now Tarawa 32 and 64 are playable. you can play those layers without crash.

4- Turtlemines problem is fixed now. Turtlemines can be used effectively by bots.

5- AI templates and aifixes are created for those vehicles:

Vehicles:   Lvt-4, lvt-5, lvt-4_flame, lvt-5, lvta-4_flame

Hello again! I made a building navmesh for Univermag building and i patched that navmesh into the whole berlin navmesh. It works, but needs more fine tunning. at least in one month it will be released.

Hey Ivan, once again fantastic work!

Just played the 64p layer of Berlin and had a ton of fun.

Here are some issues I noticed:

For balance, I would consider replacing the MG-42 with something less powerful. The map is full of open and narrow lanes and playing as defender it is very easy to lock those down even when greatly outnumbered. I had the same issue on Seelow and found the static MGs already placed around the map bad enough, so I chose to hand out MG-34s instead.

The strategic areas need to be looked after to adjust spawn behaviour. Early on, German AI will never spawn near the Tiger tank while as the game progresses into the center stage, Soviet AI will completely ignore its own tanks in the base and instead spawn near the frontline.

Edit: Is the Tiger supposed to be static? Will AI ever spawn into it because so far I have't witnessed it.

As usual, I would suggest to bring the UI experience in line with FH2 vanilla by changing map names, load screens and so on, also remove bright blue ammo stash markings on the minimap.

And finally, cloning the map is always a better option than overwriting an original as it keeps things smooth and compatible ;)

Thanks Darman for your views :)  Yes, there are 2 static tanks. i didn't put ai spawnpoints for them. Those static tanks can cause random crashes. In fact, the big problem is Univermag building in the store flag. Univermag building has no itself navmesh. i will try to patch (a navmesh patch) that building into the whole navmesh manually. But i cant promise any date for this. if i can do this , it would be very nice.
