even if it is a clichee but i can't help it...the King Tiger is just the most beautiful tank ever designed in the world! it has the perfect shapes and a very sexy body...it combined the best gun together with the best armor in ww2! It wasn't only beautiful, it was also the most effecive tank killer on the battlefields in WW2. only i terms of kills-per-losses it was the best tank of all time and reached a 16:1 kill-to-loss ratio. It probably was the most successful tank in killing enemy tanks on the eastern front. There were some King Tiger aces. Two of them (Karl Körner and Kurt Knispel) destroyed over 100+ to 160+ russian tanks in total. two other aces scored "only" 30+ to 60+ tank kills (Karl bromman and Georg Diers).

the second most beautiful AFV designed in ww2 has to be the heavy tank destroyer Jagdpanther.
You just have to love this moster with a very cool design. It was one of the the most successful tank destroyer in terms of kills per loss (after the Elefant).

3rd will be the Jagdpanzer IV it has a very low profile and a powerful L/70 high velocity gun which could destroy any enemy tank at long ranges.

shooting weaker tanks
huuurraah

I glady wanted to see them batteling Pershings and IS-2 with decent experienced crews ;)

Still, their where some pretty good panzercommanders out their. And many of them battle'd with tactics. Not "LOL I HAVE BETTER ARMAR AND ARMAMANET SO I SO WILL OWN YOU
New german crews who behaved like that, had a survival chance just as high as an american Sherman tank crew.

That kingtiger in your second picture is stationed in La Gleize, belgium. Its a pretty tank indeed. It is a shame its engine is missing though

So many Tiger II pics.  Anyways, I think M1 Abrams, Leopard II or Challenger II win the best kill to death ratio of all time.

Regardless, best tank (when seen from behind): Mark IV

ISU 152 is a box
M26 is quite sexy
IS2 is alright except the turret is too boxy

ISU and M26 look like caricatures, with the proportions of their turrets, guns, and bodies. They ooze power, but don't quite seem as unstoppably juggernautish as the KT.

I hate all the heavy tanks.  Gross.  Anything above a Panzer IV is too much.

wow that thread is old ...

well I dont understand the hetzer hating here ... the gun isnt in the middle, so? this might be impractical, but as for looks i think its cool. it doesnt look as boring as a jagdpanzer IV. and the rear of the hetzer just looks awesome:

as for the ugly tanks i think theres a lot: the jagdpanzer IV with the long 75mm/"panther"-gun looks just weird. also called guderian duck because it was so "head-heavy" (my english fails here).

and the a-version looks even worse:

but also most allied tanks lack this special something. they are mass products, nothing special behind it. its like: hey lets mass produce a tank, just for having 50000 tanks, just throw some metal and some kind of gun together. shermans and t34s just look boring.
