I have only seen the first half. It looked like Messi was constantly thinking about his speech to the press if Argentina lost the game. "What should I say?" "What will the public think?" "What my friends are going to say?" as he strolls around the field, gracing the foreign stadium that he might never enjoy again, lamenting while comfortably dwell in defeat acceptance.

I thought the Sampaoli finally figure out to play Messi as "just another Argentina players", as they played the ball mostly away from him.

Yet, Argentina played as if they are the expected winner, constantly under pressure, and then caved in. Well, borrowing from the Mexican Osorio's words "Play for the love of winning, not for the fear of losing." FGS! When they got individual talents like Messi, Higuain, Di Maria, Agüero, Mascherano, they should be ruthless and play to their individual advantage. What a waste.

Well, pitying Messi aside, on the other hand we got Cristiano Ronaldo, another one-man team. But he seemed to be able to "carry" the hum-drum Portugal squad, unlike Messi who simply choked in the middle of strangers. Messi is like the hyper genius anti-social kid, while Ronaldo is a self-made rags to riches, somehow it shows in their playstyle. Ronaldo knows that sometimes luck will do, so he took all the chances he got. While the superior Morrocan side cannot really finish it properly, despite recieving a flurry of goal scoring chances and dominating the ball possession.

Then we have the England team, finally able to shake off that "we are one of the top team" vanity.

What type of idiot would get his history lessons from a videogame like this? Do those people also watch blockbuster films to learn history related facts? Do those people think that they're going to replace credible books and other material in schools with AAA videogames?

Aha, new guy detected.

Wait until you see people keep posting that they saw "wrong WW2 American GI uniform colour in FH2".

This quote was in one of my Toastmasters meetings back in 2012.

There are unhealthy number of people who do that for real.

And we are just poking fun at them to check whether the guys here still got their brains or not, kind of sanity check amongst ourselves.

Germany lost 0-1 against Mexico. It is either: attacking football is dead or Germany simply doesn't have a decent attacker or creative attacker (as Fàbregas & Shearer said).

Case for attacking football is dead: Spain who dominated the game cannot take advantage over Portugal. Argentina cannot subdue Iceland as well (they don't have decent midfielder perhaps?). Only Uruguay and France was rewarded for their persistent push against team who can't seemingly convert their counter attacking opportunities.

Case for Fàbregas and Shearer's argument: Both BBC pundits are pro players and qualified. Fàbregas, a creative playmaker himself is dying breed nowadays. Today most teams go for the false 10 or incredible wingers. Sure, Leicester City won't get that title if it wasn't for decent midfielders and attackers that can convert opportunities ruthlessly, from Mahrez, Kante, and Vardy. Germany simply doesn't have them. They could have Sané, but saying that from this hindsight perspective isn't going to help Germany.

It is day 2 now, and watching Portugal being carried by Ronaldo to luckily held the Spain at bay, and Messi simply choked against the plucky Iceland that beat the mighty Dutch and England, I learn one thing. You have to have some kind of attitude, be it cocky arrogant child like CR7 or a larger than life self-worshipper Zlatan Imbrahimnovic. Lionel Messi only relies on his skill and technique, which from various Youtube compilations, we can clearly see that he is far more gifted than CR7, if only he was as physically as good as CR7.

I think Ronaldo's confidence is a gift, something that is lacking with Messi. Ronaldo had nobody. Pepe and Quaresma might be enough for him to even the former champion still sporting enough stars to have a shot at the cup. But Messi? He got Agüero, Ángel Di María, Higuaín, the veteran Mascherano, Biglia, and Dybala. Messi failed to shine despite all the Argentine football team has given him. Granted, Iceland is proven to be a good team, they did park the bus, they swarm Messi with more than 2 guys when he received the ball, but then he had 3 chances to prove that he is better than Ronaldo. But still, he blown 1 penalty and 2 goal-ranged set pieces. Ronaldo missed 1 set piece and converted the rest.

I am started to be convinced now, that talent is not everything. And Ronaldo > Messi in your team, really. It is like the kid who scored the highest in test vs. the confident kid. Messi is clearly the smarter kid, but Ronaldo is the guy who gets the job done. You know, my boss is not a particularly nice guy, he is a schmoozer, a bullshitter, cocky, arrogant, talentless, almost skilless at job, yet like Ronaldo his performance said the otherwise. He raised our income, both business and personal.

It is very sad, I believed that this is his last chance to shine and bring the cup to Argentina's possession for the third time. It might be too early to tell, but France is not the good either. All those expensive talents just choked in front of the plucky socceroos. It takes Paul Pogba's reluctant ball to bring back victory for them. That being said, this year's world cup may belong to the underdogs once more.

People throwing random adjectives like "Savage" nowadays, cheapening the terms. It is time for the language to evolve. We no longer use terms like "thy" or "thou" anymore.

Is that an Asian guy holding the sniper rifle? I know there is 442nd infantry regiment consisted of mainly Japanese Americans, but boy, this is full on historical rewriting.

Command & Conquer's last hurrah was with Red Alert 3. The C&C games released after that marks its death.

The disconnect between players and video game producers is incredible.

I don't know, but this is a bold claim. There are a lot of casual players out there who may outnumber us the "denied-to-be-exist" so-called hardcore gamers.

Fallout 76 world will contain no human NPCs, meaning every humans you meet there are online players. But I hope this isn't true. The guy who speaks for Bethesda said that he wants to give this type of gaming a chance.

Well, who knows, people love abominations like stilted sedans "CUV" (Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, VW Tiguan, BMW X5) instead of real SUVs. So, who knows, MMORPG abomination formula could work for seriously nerdy Fallout fanbase? You can't even opt out of PVP, meaning your bases will be susceptible to random attackers by online bullies. Seriously, we need specific rating for online interaction. Make every online games automatically M+ (17+), because somebody young will always going to eff your mom when online.

Fortnite is successful because my middle aged CEO, CFO, and even the building security guard plays it. This is why games are becoming more and more "dumbed down". Too many people have moved on with real life.

Great documentary!

It really fits my own thoughts about Hitler: a guy who was just a seed of evil, but his seed was sown and fertilised by the German situation of the time and a bunch arse-kissing evil likeminded folks.

It is called whitewashing the history. At least Mafia III went on full post-Jim Crow's 1960s racist mode. They don't censor calling our character "jig" and trigger violence when we enter "no coloured allowed" places. It is historical accuracy.

But when you include women and minorities in WW2 games, where they were never existed just to make all of us feel good, it is called white washing. The past is sexist and racist, we get it. But faking it is not the solution. We should tell people as how the reality was: world war 2 made us aware and realise that we need women more than we imagined, and racism can be very very very destructive.

Poland should be there too. If they really include Bedouin or British Gurkha, that will be bold. But going full pandering mode is bad.

Regardless of that, I think the gameplay should be fun and full of random shenanigans to laugh about.

LOL, women in Battlefield, and I am instantly thinking of Soviet and Eastern Front. Finally! Then Manon Batiste of French Resistance. Imagine the gameplay! I have no objections at all about that. You can even add Black Nazi soldiers in their Hiwi Askari or the French SS grenadier division.

But the idiots decided to make it western front only. Well, fine. At this point, we can strike off games as educational material. There are too many AceCombat players being called "pilots" already.

Also remember that BF1942 had STG44 in desert and BF2 had F35.. Somehow BF2 was most realistic of all battlefields with most stuff from real life. But still uncomparable to this

In BF2, you play as US Marine Corps when the F-35B is available to your side. Then you also get the US Marine-only LAV-25, it is indeed the last "realistic" BF2 games.

Rewatched this again with my family yesterday.

Never expected to get very excited when seeing Captain America emerges on the scene. A fantastic job that is.

They did 4 sub-plots and weave it into one coherrent and cohesive storyline. It is a very difficult thing to do, but they make my simpleton mother understand, that is a great achievement. Managing the clash of the characters to be far more acceptable than Batman and Superman is the second greatest achievement made by this movie.

My only gripes is that, the film is not as tight or as neatly packaged as the first Avenger movie. Sure it is difficult, given how many big characters and subplots that is going on.

I just hope this beat Titanic. James Cameron needs to shut up after making that "on and on and on and on" abomination.

Just finished watching Avengers: Infinity War (2018) with some coworkers and friends.

By Russo brothers
Starring you know whos

The third Avengers film in the franchise, the 4th to feature ensemble cast. Super dramatic story-changing plot, so I won't do any spoilers.

But how is it?

Meh, it is starting to look like the franchise relying more on familiar faces, rather than driving an interesting plot or story telling. Sure it has been 10 years, but this latest Marvel installments probably suffered from creativity problem. Was the bar set too high after something fresh like the Black Panther? Well, probably.

Disney & Marvel quality control means this film will pass your "garbage" filter easily, unlike other filmmakers.

There is a lot of jokes to keep it entertaining, self-references, pop-culture references never gets old, and safely takes Marvel heroes from taking itself too seriously. I don't know how they do it, because I was very well prepared to roast these Marvel jokes that they overdid, like in Thor: Ragnarok for instance. But Avengers: Infinity War (part 1) really delivers it.

Progression between scenes and the transitions are somehow done tastefully to avoid "rushing". Something that is plaguing Pacific Rim: Uprising and Justice League films. There is definitely somebody doing quality control on the final product, and they definitely understand what the audience would like to see.

But that's it. Marvel films' seal of approval and no more no less.

There is nothing special happening, other than Superheroes, some meta humans, some superhumans, some demigods, some mechanics have clearly aggregated and levelled abilities, unlike what we seen in the previous Avengers and Justice League films. Sure it makes the fight interesting, but it also somewhat kills the character. The film is super anti-lore, anti-convention for the sake of presentation and plot devices. It might hurt some die hard nerds, but will be mostly okay for mainstream audiences.

Then, there is the ending. Well, I get it that this is supposed to be the "part 1". Well, how do we properly end a film? Uh, the original Star Wars Trilogy as a reference perhaps? The finish is pretty much like a couple of very lazy wipes on the anus after a bad case of diarrhea, very unsettling. The post-credit scenes also doesn't conclude anything, other than add another clue for missing puzzle.

Is this the point where we reach saturation? Fatigue?
Nope. Sorry, Mr. James Cameron, you clearly are just jelly. Suck it! You created that abomniation Titanic and reaped too many undeserving prizes.

Oh yeah, it is 7.5/10 for me. Should have been longer, and the audience wouldn't mind.
