General Discussion / Re: CMPv2.0 released!

So now I need to download it again, or updater will update maps?
BTW; did you changed Jamamoto a little? It looks great and video is so high quality!

the updater will check your levels folder and update/download the new files when necessary. so, no, you don't need to redownload everything completely. (unless you have a very old version, then the updater needs to update everything ^^)

But if you just infer that all the models we are using are ripped or stealed from one or two suspicion models ,and comes to some Chinese people problem 。It is biased ,opinionated and insulting!

That is true. But it was just Jan_Kurator who released his stereotypical opinion, and you are relatively new to this forum and don't know his sometimes arrogant and disrespectful behaviour towards other individuals, yet.

A reasonable man wouldn't jump on such conclusions, not without hearing the other side first. So please, do not make the same mistake as jan_kurator and condemn the whole FH2 community based on his statements. ;)

Now to the issue: You need to be very careful with where you get your things from. I believe you when you say you got this model from another source which didnt state that it was from Call of Duty: World at War. And i would say, as long as you are chastened by it and strive to replace copyrighted/unrightful used content, i see there no problem. We are all humans, we are not perfect.

Looks like a nice start! The only thing that stands out is the color & dirt layers or lack of.

Hope you can find something in here that will help:

Keep at it! Definitely better than my first attempt. :)

thanks! Well, i was doing maps for Half-Life 1 and 2 in the early/mid 2000s. Object creation in Hammer Editor and 3ds Max is the same basic concept, especially when it comes down to vertex manipulation.  Plus, Harmonikater helped and guided me alot.

Back to the project: There just were the base and detail layer in the first picture, you were right! I'm currently adding the other layers too while reading through your thread.

here a version with full base and detail and dirt in process:

Remove the support beam and you have something of a garage. Low wall sticking out could be made into a separate model.

The support beam stays, i need detail! :) Besides it's going to be more of a stable/tool shed. And about the wall: I wanted to fool around a bit with smoothing groups and see if i could model something more natural/organic/non-linear.

(for comparison, the one that the Pacific Mini Mod of the community is using. I believe it was a FH1 port)

i'm glad you like the videos!

Finally being able to play with an illustrious circle of people that know how to play this game is a very good thing. The public servers are certainly not good for my blood pressure. The next time you get killed at the main-base for a tank or plane, think about a 762 Premium membership.
