The main reason I don't get more older games on my computer is because I don't have a lot of hard drive space, and I don't have an adapter to use console controllers for my computer.

No moral object at all, just don't have room and the means to play it easily.

You could get one of those cheap Logitech gaming pads for PC which are basically copies of PSX/PS2 pads. I myself have Xbox 360 pad and it works well too but if you have accustomed to Playstation pad it can be little weird to use at first.

Just get a wired 360 controller. They aren't that expensive and very well made. The software is basic but decent, and you'll be sure that every game with controller compatibility will support it.

I bought mine for about £18, which isn't bad at all.

Wouldn't bother with the wireless one. It's more expensive, requires a receiver and batteries and all that lalalala. Just keep it simple and go for the wired.

Aces over Europe? (Or probably Aces of the Pacific, but never played this one).
AoE was a superb game, and my first combat fs too (if you don't count the very strange dogfight mode of the first Microsoft FS  ;D )
