General Discussion / Re: FH2 Thursday Reloaded!

Pistol shoot outs rooftop to rooftop on Giarabub made for a gaming night of excellence.

Thanks, knew it was something like that once this all started but I figured there should be an easy fix... then that visual c++ error scared me.

I'll just reinstall BF2 and Fh2 all over again.

And no, no, no no BF3 for me!  This was purely a result of windows vista failing, and I had a guy here willing to professionally install windows 7 enterprise for me in trade for my digital music collection. So, I took the deal. ;)

I cannot play online in windows 7 which I was just forced to upgrade to yesterday.  Single player works just fine.

This is the error I have gotten, other times I just CTD with no error.

I have already made sure Forgotten Hope2 has firewall access.
And manually added BF2's application to the list as well.

Anything else needs firewall access to play, or did I add the wrong application?

What about something in a profiles directory?   After wiping the computer and having windows 7 installed, I put bf2 + fh2 back into program files by dragging from a back up drive ... so is it possible I missed a crucial file for playing online?

Thanks,
~DR

It doesn't have the Yamato, but I think Tyrrhenian Sea might be more fun overall.... lots of little islands to play around on aside from the many ships and planes.

And with just a couple very minor additions (namely small craft available at the islands for infantry spawners to get around more easily), the map would easily be official release quality.  YOU SHOULD ALL DOWNLOAD IT AND JOIN IN.

Torps work, had my first torpedo kill in FH2

General Discussion / Re: AWARDS

actually we do have one, but not in the form of a badge but a ribbon:
...
It'd be fun to see that ribbon pinned on your profile if I'd take look at it in a week from now Dago Red..
Challenge accepted? ;D

Ah good to know!  Only 10 tanks in a round?  I could do that with one eye closed.

(Actually, that's quite a lot, especially if they are German tanks anywhere outside of Africa. Though I'm certain I destroyed at least 10 vehicles using mines on Supercharge -- do mines count?  And I assume marmons/222's and other armored cars not counted for a "tank" kill?)

I accept this challenge!  Though I would amend to the rest of the month since I won't be playing as much do to travel. :)

Just looking over the awards very thoroughly for the first time, and noticed there was none for anti-tankers.   That is sorely missing! There's a pistoleer award (which is great) but none for combat prowess killing enemy tanks with infantry tools -- seems an oversight.  It is the hardest task an infantryman can undertake and worthy of recognition.

(no i'm not talking about using AT guns to destroy tanks, but using bazookas, fausts, mines, satchels, etc).

General Discussion / Re: Americans, go to WOLF!
« on: 03-08-2011, 01:08:30 »
Let's keep WaW admins out of this, since it happened on wolf, in all likelyhood a pal was just sticking up for a pal over someone he didn't know. I'm sorry you were treated poorly by someone on our server though. Personally, I have no tolerance for regulars or veterans treating new guys that way, it doesn't help the community, the server, the mod or the game in progress.

In any case, you don't have to dig up any info for us, we already have it all, and know the names involved.  Feel free to carry on the inquiry at wolfgaming.net, but let's not jam up the dev's forums with these things.

Just glad we're seeing more new players jumping on American servers, Wolf, Waw, or otherwise. It's good for all -- so let's treat them WELL.

@RAFpilot please go to http://www.wolfgaming.net/ to petition your case and give your info so we can help you out.  Sorry you were banned for something so minor, but you must have said the Fbomb several times. We have changed the auto admin to be a little more relaxed about foul language.

Off-Topic / Re: I'm Back, Sort Of
« on: 01-08-2011, 17:08:13 »
Whatever Buns.  You come over to Wolf making these threats to return every few months, get everyone to fall all over themselves with your huge rack and plump bottom, helping you build computer and then never show up on the server.

I trust you and Yossarian have a happy life together, gorging on hydrogenated corn syrup baked goods, growing grotesquely fat.

Ill let it go as im sure there are tons of incidents like this. I did see you guys have affiliation w/WaW, and it made me think since this guy had WaW tag on his name maybe he thinks he CAN get away with this? Like he has more right to equip on the map? Everyone either stuck up for him, or told me to shut up, so it felt that way.

Are you Panzer_Pimp in game?

[01:57:44] Panzer_Pimp -> hey this WaW guys trying to force tk

If so, we have been looking into this particular incident since it happened. And behind the scenes admins were trying to see what was going on and get their admin tools up while I was questioning the offender in admin chat (I was not in game). As Kevino said we had just sort of passed the baton admin-wise.  Also, some Wolf regulars saw what was happening and were in fact defending your side of the story.  That's why I took it so seriously, otherwise, we most likely would have taken a guy from WaW's word over yours (since we don't know Panzer_Pimp at all).  Because you're right, we have a close relationship and regularly help populate each other's servers, depending on what night it is.  So this will be handled. IN the future you should sign up on www.wolfgaming.net and bring these concerns there.

Villers-Bocage / Re: Villers-Bocage 32
« on: 25-07-2011, 21:07:19 »
We ran the 16 player version of this on WOLF to get the server started the other day... I see there is no such thing here, although it was clearly a 16 player version loaded in the server. I don't know how theBF2cc handles a map that doesn't realy exist when it is run.... or if you've just forgotten to include it here. Was this the 32 version that it defaulted too?

In any case, the map had no spawn interface, and as a result was unplayable.  The interface appeared only with blank grids but no map, flags or spawns to choose.

Clans and Tournaments / Re: Id like to join a clan or group
« on: 25-07-2011, 17:07:50 »
Both WaW and WOLF have lots of shared members and you'll find the same regulars on both servers.  Just getting to know them is a step forward in FH life. You'll feel good about it.

As Kevino says, he's one of you PSTers and I still see him and his infernal explosives for several hours each night I play, even though I'm on the east coast.  Once you start playing with the FH regulars of the Americas (north and south, since we're in the same time zones - though wolf also has members as far as Sweden and Hong Kong playing during prime time) you start to get an idea of who's going to be doing what.  You know Kurt Steiner is running and infantry squad. You know Anubis is directing some kind of heavy tank, Wooter is just MGing the hell out of people until he has to rage quit.  You can plan accordingly, join the squad that fits your mood.

General Discussion / Re: FH2 textures quality...

Exploiting different graphics settings for the purposes of gaining an advantage is absolutely the height of lame.

I play this game for the immerse WW2 experience, not to make my computer display a high number.
Exactly, highest settings possible.

FH2 Help / Support / Re: Disabling the noise effect
« on: 22-07-2011, 19:07:52 »
Not to everyone it doesn't. For me it ruined the game entirely. The effect renders as a multi-colored pixilated noise all across the screen, that after you notice it, becomes the only thing you see.

You can disable the noise by lowering your graphics settings, while still keeping some of the new post production effect in tact.  Try that first.  If that doesn't work for you because you lose too much other visual quality, then see e.)Disabling post-production  in the manual.
