Forgotten Hope 2 Conspiracies Thread
« on: 06-04-2010, 06:04:41 »
Yes, thats right, A thread about your conspiracy theories.

One theory I thought of several days ago was

What if the Dev team is secretly working on other theatres slowly while concentrating mainly on the current theater? You don't see the parts to the other thatres in the mod build becase they dont include them or somethin!

Any theories from you guys?

i have always hoped for the eventual release of the tournament maps for public play.

Anzio was fun as hell (from FHT), the WaW map pack was popular for some time also but my spidey senses lead me to believe that we will never see them implemented.

also, If you read the change logs there's tons of things that have never made it in game, which makes me wonder why someone's hard work was put into a product that we will never get to enjoy?

 examples: Swordfish, Submarines, TORPEDOES!!! ...

ooh AdamPA just made a good point, will we ever see the bloody bastards of Bastogne?

Those where amongst the first models to be made, it could be that then they wanted to make a sea map, but the BF2 engine killed that idea.

Olympus is boring to play, it always starts and ends up as a massive camp out for planes on both sides. The only fun that I have ever had on that map was ramming an truck with the train and then using the train as a bulletproof shield to snipe out a tank that was oblivious to my uber-tactic.

Anzio was a buttload more fun, same goes for Lebanon and some others but Olympus to me = Meh
So, I then re-phrase myself to ask "when we will see the entertaining tournament maps?"

(no offence to the mapper of Olympus but it doesn't play well on public servers in Push mode, it needs more flags to move to and from and less flag exploiting at the castle)

Cough-Pirates 2-cough ...

If a mod team that I could count its total members on one hand can make it work, then surely the mighty FH team could get of their horse and experiment somewhat to make it fit into their game philosophy.

Ok, then they did not wanted to make giant battleships that the sub could hunt, or destroyers that hunted the sub. And i don't blame them, it must be a shitload of work making a battleship in the quality of the other models they make.

I would like to see the swordfish one day tough :s

Fh2 is being designed by a group of nano-machines genetically enhanced chimpanzees. The same group that taught the first man how to make fire, designed the Rosetta stone to look like a simple transaction when it was infact a purpose-designed dictionary, and the same people who wrote Desiderata and Everyone is free to use sunscreen under the pseudonym Buzz Lerhmann, when it became clear that man would more likely fuck it all up rather than figure it out...

They are underground, they are puppet masters and they know what you are thinking...

Maybe the testing team (on a full 64 player server) should be more involved in identifying the public play of a map before approving its' release?

That is not as easy as you make it sound. One thing is to get 64 players at a testing session and once you have those, most are, like you, from tournaments and do play differently to first time FH2ers. There is just no way to balance a map to 100%. We tried that in a Mappack release, where the mappers redid every map like 5 times and the maps still played totally different to what we had expected.
That's why we now have feedback threads on all the maps after the release. Post there, as the mappers do take that feedback seriously and changes are still being made, even to NA Maps!

I've heard that there's an Ian Flemming spy kit somewhere on the new map.. and that it contains a book named "The Birds of the West Indies" , binoculars, a knife and a gun in a wrist watch.

I belive it can be found in the same map ref as the Indiana Jones kit in Alam Halfa... *grins and hides from angry searchers*
