Compliments on the sounds!
« on: 03-01-2010, 01:01:51 »
I wonder why there's isn't a compliment forum.

Anyway I just LOVE the tank sounds. Especially the engine sounds, it makes me want to get in a tank just for that! I LOVE the roaring sound of those massive engines and I put the volume up just for that. I don't care if I hear nothing outside the tank that way that's just the way I like it and seems realistic!

I like the other gun sounds as well especially when aircrafts are firing on ground targets that Typhoon for example makes some nice mayhem! I must also compliment on the flak explosion sounds I actually like the sounds, not being hit, but the sound makes me feel like I'm something dangerous!

And ofcourse the reloading sounds of the tanks. That *clinking* sound of the shell being reloaded just adds so much to the realism. In my opinion, game sounds really create that 'edge' and makes playing this mod - wit the right sounds - incredibly worthwhile.

Thank you and please hurry up with the next update I want to play more (get those servers out of their six map routine)!

Ahh that must mean its close  ;D!!

It's already been estimated in download size right? (Around 500-800mb?)

Ardennes here I come  >:(

On-topic
I find the noises to be really good as well, I always love the noises of the planes starting up! (But then again im a 3rd generation aviator so that might be it...) The devs did really well with the "popcorn" start up  :)

Next release is More Normandy, I think.  Ardennes is (supposedly) the next theater, but probably not the next release...

i believe ardennes is less work then a normandy release (Mostly re-skin's and few new units)

Still a full theathre release is something we always had to wait for, so i guess we will do the same again

By the way, are you guys gonna change some tank gun sounds? Imo the Panther/17PDR armed vehicles should have diffrent sounds then the current universal sound.

More Normandy landings are fine too. Let's hear those MG42's rattling!

I really hope there's a way to have the team ratio set to like 1:2 or something when the beach is being stormed. I remember in FH1 that map was just plain ridiculous, you see three boats approaching, a few MG42's bursts mow down a couple of soldiers occupying them, boat after boat, I'd like to see 5 boats instead carrying 8 soldiers each overrunning the beach and being inflicted great casualties! Now that's how it really went.

I've been long thinking of hiring a server and have it run the Omaha beach map only and setting the team ratio to 1:3 or something as soon as the first Dog Green map comes out for FH2. Who's with me to contribute?

Gee that helps. And peace will come to the middle east, too, I assume?
