Aaaand I´m back from a one-week-trip to Croatia. Was really nice, Istria is a gorgeous region with lots of history. Will go back one day.

No refugees spotted, though, and we only had to show our passports once. Having travelled through 5 countries that´s quite a good quote, I guess.

Being a fratboy, beer has become an important part of my diet in the last years. I mostly enjoy lager and wheat beer the first from either a stein or straight from the bottle and the latter naturally from a big wheat beer glass. During the hot weather "Radler" (pilsner mixed with lemonade) is very refreshing and a good way of re-charging your batteries.

Last saturday I had my first pale ale which was something very new to me. Tasted quite funny and I´m not too sure if I´ll try that one again...

Munich Oktoberfest is over-prized, over-crowded and not really worth spending too many days, btw.

Panzerknacker, LuckyOne, thanks alot for your input! Pula sounds like a nice place to visit and we´ll definately try some wine (no driving then, of course! ;)).
We want to do a mix of both relaxing and sight-seeing. The public bus network is supposed to be quite good, so we plan to see alot. I´m not really a fan of beach holidays and I really want to discover Istria, so the plan is to cover as much ground as possible without getting into too much of a hurry.

Sure you can ask. ;)

Since I´ll go by car and only have a week off from work I´ll visit Istria, as it´s the closest province. I´m not yet entirely sure about the exact schedule of the trip so there´s still some planning ahead. A day-trip to Venice might be an option, especially since I´ll go with my gf and girls seem to love Venice. Split is unfortunately too far away, but Istria is a nice place, too. Or so I heard. I´m open to any inside informations, btw.  ;D

Am i?

Fortunately, not. Seen enough of those people and strangely a larger number of them were officers...

Anyways. Aussies in Nam.

But in the end still wearing the beret wrong  ;D

How so? I learned that the badge is supposed to worn between the left eye and the temple. So disregarding the fact that he´s wearing the para beret, he´s doing it how it´s supposed to be done.

Or are you one of those terrible people who positioned the badge right above the eye?  ;D

Graphically it looks really nice and the Star Wars feeling is definately there. But unfortunately it also looks a tad like "BF meets SW", which is a bit of a turn-off. The cluttered HUD, high-score-madness and especially the 3P-perspective are...not very attractive. Not that my PC could run the game anyways, but maybe it´ll be fun to watch games on Twitch.

I really liked it. Kinda makes me itchy for the Star Wars Armada board game. The video also feels like one of those old Daft Punk videos, which is very nice.

Kinda lost track with SC after they released the first "arena" mode. Any new worthwhile progress with the game, yet?

I get like 95% of any sorts of information from the internet, be it news, random facts about foreign areas or just how to find a new physician who doesn´t suck.
So yeah, the last weeks felt like living in some backwards time like the 90s.  ;D

You mean in front of your PC with your eyes glued to the screen and the curtains closed? ;)
I already do that for work, but now I can also watch cute kittens in my freetime. :D

Today the ISP technician rang my door bell, activated my internet acces and after being without internet for almost two months (except for the occasional hour at my GFs place every odd weekend), I´m finally back online!

My desktop PC wasn´t connected to the internet for this time and has to download a gazillion updates, but finally I can live like a civilised human being again!

Peshmerga posing with various rifles. Must be a logistical challenge supplying everyone with ammo of various calibres.

Thanks Theta. ;)

Thanks guys. I´m quite happy that after three months of standstill my life finally moves on again. What´s even better, I´m finally moving out of my old village again, back into a nice town.

Wow, things moved fast in the last two weeks.

After I graduated from university with a B.A. in October I was looking for a job. After a bunch of job interviews and loads of applications and denials, last week I got a job offer around 2 hours after the interview. Seems like they really wanted me.
Today I signed the employment contract and from 01. January 15 I´ll start working and also have my own appartment for rent in a new town. Exciting times lie ahead!
